Ascending Mt. Oishi on Mushima Island allows you to overlook the area of the Seto Inland Sea through which much Japanese shipping still] flows. The view from the lighthouse is particularly awe-inspiring. You can see with the sweep of your eyes how Mushima was once connected with many distant areas through the "Sea Road" of the Seto Inland Sea, where large and small vessels once plied the waters.
